Review on Porters on the Lane
As of July 2008, even Bellport's most dedicated veterans might not recognise the former site of their famous Bellport Chowder House, Porters on the Lane. After the 110 year old building recently changed owners, total and complete renovation began, and the results are outstanding. Gutted to bare beams and beautifully reconstructed, Porters on the Lane has all the charm you'd expect from a contemporary restaurant in a historical setting. Even in the heart of Bellport Village, Porters stands out as being a premier restaurant.
Porters on the Lane features primarily steaks and seafood, served in a quiet atmosphere with a light nautical touch. The interior contains two large dining areas, as well as a large new bar, while the outdoor porch in the front makes for a particularly nice place to dine on a sunny or clear evening.
