Bordering the English counties of Shropshire and Herefordshire the focus in Powys is on Brecon where, with the confluence of the Usk and Honddu rivers and being sheltered by the mountains it has been prized and protected since time immemorial. A commercial centre with a vibrant market, Brecon is home to some fine restaurants.
