Review on Tonic Restaurant @ Quigley's Pharmacy
Tonic Restaurant, located in the historic Quigley's Pharmacy building on the George Washington Campus, is the quintessential neighborhood gathering spot. Featuring American comfort food with a twist, Tonic's menu is reminiscent of your mother's recipes: meatloaf slowly cooked with care, homemade Mac n' cheese, fried chicken that is both juicy and crackling' crispy, and hamburgers that are perfectly seasoned and topped with some funky fixings. In addition to lunch and dinner, Tonic is also open for brunch on both Saturday and Sunday. Following an extensive renovation that would make Richard Lucien Quigley (founder of Quigley's Pharmacy in 1891 and fellow GWU alumnus) proud, Tonic Restaurant has emerged as a unique space. Featuring exposed brick from the original structure and historic photographs from the GWU archives, Tonic is truly a fusion of the old and new in Foggy Bottom.
