Review on Dough Bistro
A remarkable place, out in the suburbs of Leeds, that looks a bit like a newsagent's from the outside. In fact Dough was originally a bakery/deli (hence the name), but it's now a bare-boarded, rustic brick-walled neighbourhood bistro offering great-value evening meals. There's not much space and dressed-down conviviality prevails but you need to book well ahead to be sure of a table.
What you can expect is a no-frills, fixed-price menu with a, easy-going European accent: sautιed chicken livers with Marsala sauce, fillet of lamb with rosemary and port sauce, then lemon cheesecake with raspberry coulis, for instance. The value for money is remarkable and it's bolstered by Dough's no corkage, BYO drinks policy; there's a handy off-licence opposite. Note:no credit cards.
