'A prestigious addition to the city,' noted one reviewer about the Liverpool branch of the Restaurant Bar & Grill group. Like its parent establishment in Manchester, it's as trendily modern as can be and really aims to show off its good looks. Occupying an old banking hall in the heart of the commercial district, it has been stylishly fitted out with an impressive cocktail bar taking centre stage, plus views of the street action from big glass windows.

The menu is an eclectic mix of fusion, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern ideas that look the business on the plate. Fried chilli squid with Thai noodle salad might open the show alongside baked mushrooms with goats' cheese and caponata, while main courses could feature colourful ideas such as spicy shrimp risotto, crispy duck with Chinese greens, char-grilled burgers and tandoori sea bass with mint yoghurt. Finish off with, say, chocolate fudge pudding or Malteser ice cream. Mezze and Asian 'plates' are available to share, sandwiches are served from 12.00 - 6.00pm and the wine list has a good choice of quaffable stuff at realistic prices.
