Idyllically situated on the banks of the River Foyle within strolling distance of historic Derry Walls (the oldest defensive walls in Ireland), the City Hotel is a modern, purpose-built hotel designed with business travellers and tourists in mind.

Thompson's Restaurant takes its name from the mill which once occupied the site and it's the hotel's first choice for fine dining. Typical choices from the menu might include a salad of Mozzarella, tomatoes and rocket, seared Donegal salmon with lemon butter sauce and sirloin of Irish beef with shallot and thyme jus, followed by profiteroles or strawberry cheesecake. Sunday lunch is a highly popular carvery. Light meals are also available throughout the day in Coppin's Bar & Lounge.
