Review on The Swan Inn
The Swan is a delightful thatched village inn dating back to the 14th century set in the picturesque of Monks Eleigh in the heart of the Suffolk. New owners have undertaken a stylish refurbishment whilst retaining many or the original features. It now sports an elegant décor, welcoming guests into a warm and relaxed environment with cosy log fires in winter and a lovely terrace overlooking the village in summer.
The Swan still operates as a thriving watering hole with drinkers encouraged to pop in for a leisurely cup of coffee or tea, or maybe choosing something from their impressive selection of regional cask ales, or a glass of wine from their global collection.
As well as serving a tempting range of bar snacks, there's a fully fledged restaurant serving classic dishes using the finest local ingredients. On offer there might be potted meat terrine, ham hock and pickled vegetables served with soughdough bread followed by a main course of whole seabream marinated in oil, garlic and parsley. To finish there are traditional desserts in the shape of lemon meringue pie, lemon semifreddo, biscuit crumb, lemon meringue and Chantilly ice cream or maybe Eton Mess.
