The Deutsches Haus Appel which is in a red stone building offers a selection of culinary delights. The head of the family, Carsten Fock, works in the kitchen preparing light meals that are popular with walkers, regulars and hungry visitors from the north of Germany. The wine selection includes wine from all over the world. Beautifully laid tables, candles, simple décor and pastel-coloured walls give the restaurant an attractive look. In the summer the restaurant serves grilled barbecues. Salmon trout fillets sourced from the restaurant's own ponds roast on the grill. The coffee garden with its white parasols is a relaxing place to go and sit. The staff are friendly and helpful.
