A traditional 'tum tum' vehicle stands proud on the outside of this ambitious Nottingham Indian - a swish, grandiose and exceedingly spacious venue complete with a three-storey glazed atrium, a sleek swanky bar and a big open 'theatre' kitchen ensuring that the sounds and aromas of spicy cooking are never far away.
The lengthy menu trawls its way through the regional repertoire, from sizzling North Indian tandooris and tikkas to Goan seafood specialities and street snacks from Mumbai. Curry house diehards can choose from biryanis, dhansaks, bhunas and jalfrezis; others might want to explore some of 'tawa' specialities cooked on an open griddle or the more unusual signature dishes. King prawn curry with sweet mango sounds promising, likewise lamb achaari infused with Indian pickles. The wine list includes plenty of fragrant New World bottles to match the spicy food. There is a sister restaurant in Oxford.
