Review on La Braisière
La Braisière is very much a neighbourhood restaurant located in a residential part of the 17th arrondissement. Jacques Faussat is the owner and chef at this establishment and he was awarded a Michelin star in 2004. This modern comfortable restaurant is decorated in soft tones with a beautiful large flower display in a Médici-inspired Renaissance vase in the entrance.
Faussat earned his culinary stripes with renowned Michelin starred chef Michel Guérard and his cooking is inspired by his home region of the Pyrenees. His classic revisited dishes are both simple and inventive and could feature starters of blue lobster mango with hints of vanilla or sturgeon Adour marinated with lime and piquillo. Follow on with mains of roasted Pyrenees shoulder of lamb and thyme jus or sauté scallops served with winter root vegetables and ginger. To finish try raspberry roasted figs and lemon verbena ice cream or maybe a warm pear soufflé might take your fancy. Service is attentive and Fauusat will often come out from the kitchen to meet diners to ensure that they have enjoyed their experience in his restaurant. There is an extensive eclectic wine list to compliment the cuisine.
