Review on The Rose & Crown
An idyllic fourteenth-century inn, the Rose & Crown is an image of an archetypal Norfolk pub with its traditional low ceilings, oak beams and exposed brick work.
The kitchen casts its net wide for a big menu of dishes with plenty of global influences. Expect platters of charcuterie and antipasti, alongside 'classics' (grilled 'black' gammon with hand-cut chips and Heacham duck eggs) and more creative ideas such as chorizo, black pudding and sweet potato mille-feuille, king prawn Thai curry and braised oxtail with white bean puree and parsnip crisps. Finish with pear soup and vanilla ice cream or chocolate and raspberry tart. Excellent real ales and a decent choice of wines.
The Rose & Crown was the proud recipient of Pub of the Year in the 2015 Good Pub Guide.
