Review on Terroirs East Dulwich
Formerly known as Toasted, it was relaunched in November 2017 as Terroirs, a wine bar and restaurant that already has a successful older sibling established in central London. Located within a parade of shops on Lordship Lane in East Dulwich, rustic interiors set the tone with bare wood tables and chairs on roughly sanded flooring, and exposed brick walls lined with shelves of bottles.
Executive chef Michal Chacinski has created a daily changing French menu reflecting the best of seasonal ingredients, with a focus on sharing plates. The charcuterie could be a good starting point with dishes such as pork and pistachio terrine or duck rillettes, all served with bread. Elsewhere there's ox tongue, pickled vegetables and rocket or smoked mackerel and celeriac remoulade. Amongst the large plates look for venison and wild boar pie or from the sea, cod, baby artichokes and Monk's beard. To finish enjoy pannacotta, grapefruit and blood orange or a dark chocolate mousse paired with salted caramel.
Terroirs is a great neighbourhood venue with a relaxed and friendly vibe, showcasing a global wine list that emphasises natural wines from organic and biodynamic producers.
