Review on Sindhu by Atul Kochhar
An enviable waterside location overlooking the Thames is the setting for Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar's latest restaurant called Sindhu, within the quintessential English Macdonald Compleat Angler hotel, named after Isaak Walton's book of the same name, it's a short walk from the Georgian town of Marlow. Sindhu means river or ocean and HKDi Interior Design Associates' chic dιcor reflects not only the vibrant colours of India and its rivers, but also the backdrop of the stunning Marlow Weir. Sumptuous furnishings, striking canvases adorning the walls and riverside views all create a stylish environment for Atul's exciting cuisine.
Gopal Krishnan has been appointed to lead the kitchen having previously worked at critically acclaimed London restaurants, Tamarind and Mint Leaf. The focus is on high quality ingredients sourced from British suppliers for a menu showcasing traditional and innovative Indian dishes. Expect inspirational offerings in the shape of signature dish Hiran ka Boti, venison saddle with cardamom and mace, from the sea, Meen Moilee, wild sea bass with coconut moilee sauce or maybe Bathak Falliyan, Gressingham duck breast with three bean stew and coriander cress.
