Review on Home SW15
Restaurateur Rebecca Mascarenhas has relaunched her Bibo restaurant as Home SW15, an all day venue and bar that opens in the morning serving great coffee and brunch dishes. Located just a a few minutes walk from the River Thames and both East Putney tube station and Putney train station, this great neighbourhood destination has received glowing reviews from recent visitors since its latest incarnation.
Large glass windows let in plenty of natural light, with a large bar area towards the front of the restaurant, perfect for popping in for a quick bite or leisurely drink. The rustic style dining room is on split levels featuring brown leather banquette seating set against oak tables, exposed brick walls have been whitewashed and modern artwork by Bruce McLean adds a touch of vibrancy.
The menu reflects the kitchen devotion to impeccable ingredients with dishes such as venison and game sausage roll served with quince ketchup, or you could order the grilled mackerel with cauliflower and chorizo. When it comes to main courses you might see 30 day aged rib eye steak with mushroom sauce and chips or grilled gilt head bream with borlotti beans and confit tomato. Make sure you save room for one of their delicious desserts of frozen blackberry and juniper Eton Mess or peanut butter and chocolate cookie sandwich with raspberry jam.
Their buzzy bar is run by one of London's top mixologists serving inventive cocktails, great wine and craft beers, not forgetting their moreish bar snacks such as steak tartare on crisp bread.
