Review on Aromata
Tucked away on a short pedestrian side street within the Sat Nostra Cultural Centre, a stone's throw from Jaime III Avenue, Aromata is the casual dining restaurant from Michelin-starred chef Andreu Genestra. An atmospheric venue set within the patio of a 17th century palace, it features original stone arches and marble columns with contemporary furniture set on cobbled flooring.
Inca-born chef Andreu Genestra presents Mediterranean cuisine using carefully sourced Mallorcan ingredients with some produce picked from his own garden. The weekly changing lunchtime set menu which includes a glass of wine offers good value, and in the evening the kitchen showcases two tasting menus Aromata and Sentidos. You might begin with marinated octopus noodles on fried vegetables before a main course of succulent casseroled veal cheeks with celeriac purée and cous cous with raisins. Among the delights on offer when it comes to desserts witness a dark chocolate brownie with raspberry sauce, Aromata's yogurt, topped with dates and dried apricots or maybe yogurt sponge cake with banana and strawberry parfait, avocado cream with vanilla and lime.
