Review on Ca'n Boqueta
Ca'n Boqueta is a popular restaurant opened by a local couple in 2010 situated on Gran Via, just around the corner from the town square in Soller. Occupying a traditional townhouse with high beamed ceilings and old stone walls, it has been tastefully renovated with neutral colours, tables laid with crisp linen and artwork displayed on the walls. Soft music playing in the background adds to the inviting ambience, with most guests preferring to dine al fresco in the romantic courtyard with palm trees and views of the Tramuntana mountains.
The kitchen offers accomplished dishes showing creativity in the form of a set menu for lunch and a weekly changing five course tasting menu in the evenings. Focusing on seasonality, typical dishes found on the carte could kick off with an amuse bouche of Sobrasada and bread before melon soup with cream cheese and crispy ham. Other standout dishes are the Octopus risotto or pork with fois grais, or for theatrical flair order the lamb served under a glass dome with a misty liquid nitrogen. To finish there's ginger, red fruit and paomada San Juan foam dessert.
To accompany your dining experience there's a carefully crafted wine list, many from vineyards on the island, locally sourced artisan beers and a nice selection of gins.
