Review on Flor de Sal by Jonay Hernandez
Flor de Sal by Jonay Hernandez has a prime position overlooking the pool and sea in the Bahia Camp de Mar Suites complex. Located in the upmarket sea front town in the southwest of Mallorca, close to Andratx, the restaurant is accessed by some steep steps. On sunny days the outside tables on the delightful terrace are the most sought after, affording diners stunning views over the crystal clear waters of Camp de Mar Bay and the pine covered rocky outcrops.
Originally from Tenerife, talented chef Jonay Hernandez showcases a Mediterranean menu with Asian and Canary Island influences, with a focus on organic and locally sourced produce. A popular choice is his tapas menu, designed for sharing it offers dishes along the lines of plankton and cod cookie or from the land taco filled with goat meat and fresh herb cream. Other options worth ordering would be the popular aloe vera cannelloni filled with Canarian "ropa vieja" or the anise bun stuffed with pork and fried egg. Finish with a chocolate fondant or there's a great selection of petit fours.
Service is friendly and there's an excellent choice of Mallorcan wines, together with cocktails.
