Review on Bright
Set on the ground floor of Netil House, near London Fields in Hackney, Bright a wine bar and restaurant comes from the same team behind P.Franco & Noble Fine Liquor. Occupying the former premises of Michelin-starred Ellory, the interiors are bathed in lots of natural light from the floor to ceiling windows. Featuring a wine bar at the front, it's a pared back space with blond wood furniture overlooked by an open kitchen.
Taking helm of the kitchen is William Gleave the former Head Chef of the acclaimed Tasmanian restaurant Garagistes, together with Giuseppe Belvedere who was the Head Chef at Brawn in Bethnal Green. Together they have created an accomplished menu cooked on a charcoal grill, it focuses on impeccably fresh seasonal ingredients showing a genuine respect to the produce on offer. Enjoy the likes of pork katsu sando or grilled pheasant thigh, soured cream and horseradish before moving on to turbot on the bone with cider butter or from the land, lamb belly, yoghurt, parsley and capers finishing with chocolate chard, sea salt and caraway.
The wine list is a cracker with some lovely options available by the glass, championing small producers committed to making wine with low intervention across Europe and the New World.
