Review on Cecconi's Shoreditch
The latest project from Soho House is Redchurch Townhouse in the heart of Shoreditch, a 37 bedroom boutique hotel with a branch of the popular Italian restaurant Cecconi's on the ground floor. A more laid-back version than its Mayfair sibling, it has a stylish design with black and white striped flooring, marble tables and a smart curved bar with art decor shelving lined with bottles. Walls are adorned with artworks by 40 artists under the age of 40, most of whom live in East London.
Operating as an all-day Venetian restaurant serving Northern Italian dishes it starts the ball rolling with breakfast, working its way through to lunch and dinner, as well as their popular Sunday Feast served from 12 noon to 5.00pm. The kitchen sends out pasta in single portions or in bowls for all the table to share along the lines of their signature lobster spaghetti, as well as cicchetti, pizzas, meat, fish and vegetable dishes. Desserts stay close to home witness, panna cotta paired with poached rhubarb and biscotti or profiteroles, pistachio gelato and chocolate sauce.
