St Tudy Inn is set in the picturesque village of the same name, just two miles from the start of the Camel Trail and within easy walking distance of Bodin Moor in north-eastern Cornwall. Chef patron is Emily Scott, who previously operated The Harbour Restaurant in Port Isaac, which she sold in 2013 to chef Nathan Outlaw. The charming 17th-century stone-built Cornish inn near the River Camel has been lovingly restored and has been picking up a number of accolades since being taken over by Emily, including being voted No 24 in the prestigious Top 50 Gastro pub awards and has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand since 2017.

Named as one of the most influential women in hospitality by CODE, Emily learned her culinary trade in France before setting up her business in the UK. Local produce is woven throughout an innovative menu that appears on the plate as highly accomplished and competent cooking. For starters you might be tempted by butterflied sardines, chilli, lemon, parsley and kitchen leaves before moving on to pan roasted chicken thighs, puy lentils, smoked pimento, serrano ham and parsley. Bringing the curtain down are desserts in the shape of plum crumble, amaretti and vanilla ice cream or a vanilla seeded panna cotta paired with berries and shortbread. To accompany the food there's local ales on tap, a first-class wine list and carefully crafted cocktails.

St Tudy Inn also serves the local populous as a watering hole and should you wish to stay over and enjoy the surrounding area further, there's four beautiful rooms in the nearby converted barn.
