Review on Le Comptoir Robuchon
Le Comptoir Robuchon was unveiled in November 2019 in honour of the late legendary chef Joël Robuchon, who during his distinguished career held 32 prestigious Michelin stars across 13 countries, the most of any chef in the world. Located in the heart of Mayfair, just steps from Green Park, the sophisticated interiors have been created by Thurstan Design. A stunning marble bar with counter seating takes centre stage alongside the open kitchen, with bespoke luxurious burnt orange velvet banquettes opposite.
The kitchen is under the leadership of Executive Chef Jeremy Page, who earned his culinary spurs at the original L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Saint Germain, Paris. The menu is designed for sharing, split into La Saison with contemporary and seasonal dishes and Les Eternels showcasing a collection of Robuchon's classic signature dishes. Among the many delights on offer you might see Le Maquereau, mackerel, Kohlrabi and horseradish or Wagyu, seaweed butter and caviar. Among the large plates there's L'agneau, lamb chops, aubergine and Comté served with M. Robuchon's famous "Purée" or from the sea Les Langoustines, raviolis, foie gras and Savoy cabbage. Desserts stay close to home with La Tatin, ginger, apple and caramel or Le Soufflé, hazelnut and honey.
