Review on Mimmo La Bufala
Mimmo La Bufala, originally the Hampstead branch of the worldwide Italian chain of Frattelli la Bufala, was relaunched in early 2012 by its owner Mimmo as an independent restaurant. The dining room is divided into two areas with the wood-firing pizza oven taking centre stage, walls are adorned with posters of Italian movie stars and the bar features Italian motoring memorabilia.
Traditional rustic food served the old-fashioned way is the theme of this casual modern Italian restaurant with an emphasis on freshness and quality ingredients. Their 13 inch pizzas with a variety of toppings are always a popular choice, but the menu is also backed up with an assortment of pasta and risotto dishes, as well as several meat and fish offerings. To finish there's a good selection of classic homemade desserts such as tiramisu or panna cotta. Accompanying the menu is a well thought out wine list with offerings from the Campania region.
