Review on Nambu-tei
To find Nambu-tei, turn off the Baker Street main drag into a little shopping alley: the restaurant itself is waiting to be discovered behind a Chinese herb emporium. Inside it is cool, calm, clean-lined and contemporary, with stylish furniture, prints and calligraphy scrolls on the walls.
Prices are very fair, and the kitchen delivers a good range of super-fresh sushi and sashimi, plus a selection of familiar dishes ranging from deep-fried tempura and grilled yakitori to bowls of soup noodles. Bento box lunches are just the ticket for visitors heading for Madam Tussaud's and other tourist attractions. Drink tea, Japanese beer or saké; otherwise, pick something from the serviceable wine list. There is a second branch in the centre of Windsor.
