Review on La Grande Cascade
La Grande Cascade is a Michelin starred restaurant housed in a glass Belle Époque hunting pavillion dating from the 1900 World's fair. Set a few steps from the Grande Cascade Falls in the Bois de Boulogne, this is an exceptional dining experience with its massive glass rotunda dining room, stunning crystal chandeliers and beautifully laid tables with fresh flowers.
Frédéric Robert with his impeccable pedigree, ex Senderens and Lucas Carton holds sway in the kitchen to produce modern, perfectly executed dishes of exceptional taste and quality. Open your account with cockle clam and razor shell stuffed with zucchini flowers, lemon and ginger oil or mallard duck foie gras and pistachio terrine with mango frivolities and sweet onion. The artfully presented dishes continue with mains of mace roasted cochon du plait (pork) and caramelized turnip, beet shoot and hachis parmentier or codfish back and Spanish calamari stuffed with Lomo artichokes, high seasoned and Nero di Seppia. Bringing the show to a finale are mouth watering desserts, witness Curvée du Centaire, Grand Marnier soufflé with citrus fruit sherbet or Madagascar Grand Millefeuille.
