Review on Maca de Castro
Formally the Restaurante JardÃn, talented chef Macarena de Castro, the first female chef in Mallorca to be awarded a prestigious Michelin star in 2012 for her dazzling cuisine has renamed her restaurant Maca de Castro. It's located in a quiet residential street in Alcudia with contemporary interiors and walls displayed with modern artwork by Macarena's uncle, Antonio de Castro. During summer months a romantic garden is a perfect setting for al fresco dining.
The menu gets under way with the likes of tuna, marinated in soy with tomato cream or perhaps goat cheese with tomato marmalade before roast suckling pig 'Majorcan Style', beef loin burger, paella or fish from the bay as fresh as can be. A sorbet of seasonal fruit rounds things off or perhaps indulge in 'chocolate in textures'.
