Since becoming a European City of Culture in the early 1990's much has been done to transform Glasgow's once grey image. Majestic old buildings have been cleaned and new buildings have won it the accolade of 'UK City of Architecture and Design'.
Eating out in Glasgow is a joy. Look out Scottish produce like Arbroath smokies, Lochfyne kippers, Forfar bridies, Selkirk bannocks, Orkney, Islay or Galloway cheeses, Dundee cake and perhaps a glass of whisky, or two.
