Review on Crocket's Quay Bistro
There’s been a pub on Ballina Quay for more than two centuries: originally it was a one-room cottage boozer serving the influx sailors and local dockworkers. Once known as Crocketstown, it’s now a sprawling set-up comprising four bars, eight letting rooms, a restaurant and all-weather beer garden complete with plasma screens and a pool table.
Food is served in the bars throughout the day, with more formal restaurant meals also available in the evening: expect dishes such as chicken and mushroom soup, duck in Cassis sauce and blueberry crème brûlée. Fishing trips can be arranged and the kitchen will even cook your catch for you. Regular events, weekend entertainment and live music are also part-and-parcel of the place.
