Review on Ballygally Castle Hotel
Dating back to 1625, Ballygally now claims to be the only seventeenth-century edifice still used as a residence in North Ireland. The hotel is perfectly placed on the Antrim coast only 20 miles from Belfast, and makes a perfect basecamp for exploring the region: the Giant’s Causeway and the Nine Glens of Antrim are just a drive away.
The exquisite Garden Restaurant overlooks the castle grounds and offers a choice of a bistro menu or table d’hôte. On Sundays a ‘grand buffet’ is served in the River Room, which boasts glorious views over the beach and bay towards Scotland.
