Review on The Conrad Hotel Dublin, The Coburg
In a prime spot opposite the National Concert Hall (just round the corner from St Stephen's Green), this five-star contemporary hotel is a great boon for business people and tourists alike. Thanks to extensive refurbishment and ongoing improvements, it has re-invented itself to good effect of late.
The Corburg brasserie takes inspiration for its name from the neighbouring Iveagh Gardens, once known as the Coburg Gardens. A stylish décor with smart leather banquette seating set against marble table tops, it's a fitting setting for Head Chef Dmitry Stroykov's modern brasserie menu showcasing the finest seasonal and local produce.
Order a starter of Castletownbere crab cocktail before a main course of rack of Irish lamb with rosemary jus or whole seabass with ginger, chilli and lime. When it comes to desserts there's chocolate fondant paired with whiskey ice cream or maybe ricotta cheese and chocolate tart, pistachio and candied orange.
