Review on Cafe Fish
Ultra-fresh seafood is the star of the show at Cafe Fish situated at the end of the pier, with panoramic views over Tobermory Bay to Calve island. The restaurant has its own boat so shellfish is landed daily, with the menu supplemented by local boats supplying monkfish, Dover sole, cod and squid. Oysters and crabs come from Croig, mussels from Inverlussa and their salad leaves, herbs and tomatoes are picked daily from the gardens at Glengorm Castle.
Head chef is Liz McGougan who uses as much as possible natural ingredients for her dishes, fish is simply seasoned and well cooked retaining its fabulous flavours. Everything is prepared in-house including the bread, scones, shortbread and their delicious desserts. There is a carefully selected wine list that comes from Inverarity Vaults to complement the menu. Cafe Fish was awarded the Good Food Guide Best Fish Restaurant in the UK 2012 and it was also recommended by Lonely Planet, as one of their top five restaurants to eat in Scotland.
