Review on Angelica
Angelica opened in March 2013, the well regarded D&D's first venture outside London, located in the new Trinity Leeds shopping and leisure complex. The restaurant occupies the sixth floor with interiors designed by Conran & Partners, featuring a central pewter cocktail bar and a wraparound garden terrace, commanding panoramic views of the city and Trinity Church.
Des Gunewardena and David Loewi, or more commonly known as D&D have opened another restaurant on the fifth floor of the complex called Crafthouse, and they have appointed Executive Head Chef Murray Wilson to oversee both establishments.
Open your account with starters such as California Maki roll, salmon, yuzu, chives, chilli oil and dry toast or choose Schezuan beef fillet, pepper, chilli and spring onion. Main courses usher in cockle, clam and mussel 'white' risotto or steak and chips, butcher's steak, triple cooked chips and peppercorn sauce. There are delightful desserts to finish with warm doughnuts served with vanilla sugar and your choice of blackcurrant compote, spiced apple, whisky custard or warm chocolate sauce, or you could opt for a traditional rhubarb and crumble.
Expect well-crafted cocktails from skilled mixologists, a late night DJ and an eclectic menu that is available throughout the day in a relaxed and stylish venue.
