Review on Zum Spießgesellen
A stuffy place? Not at all. The restaurant has three rooms where people can relax, dine and party. The place is popular with locals and holiday-makers and staff are efficient and friendly. Sit on one of the dark wooden chairs and admire the large bar in the middle of the room and the crossed weapons on the walls. The cuisine is good and solid offering Frankish Sauerbraten (a marinated pot roast), Nuremberg roast sausages and Biergulasch (a Bavarian-style beef goulash with a rich beer sauce). A little extra choice goes down very well with the kids. If you like desserts why not try the Apfel-Brotauflauf (a type of apple bread pudding) or Topfenstrudel (a type of Austrian strudel). There is also a great selection of beer and wine.
