Review on The Peacock

Tucked away in a pretty Warwickshire village on the edge of the Cotswolds and conveniently close to 'Shakespeare Country', the Peacock has been given a refreshing facelift by new owners Yvonne Hamlett and Pam Farrell. They have brightened up and modernised the interior, which now sports a contemporary décor and stylish wood fittings.

Menus offer a mix of classic pub cooking and more modern brasserie-style dishes: expect eggs Benedict, fish 'n chips and ribeye steak with béarnaise sauce alongside grilled salmon steak with red wine butter sauce or suprême of chicken on herb risotto with smoked ham sauce. Traditional Sunday lunches are lazy affairs that run right through until early evening.
