Review on Bistrot d'à Côté Flaubert
Bistrot d'à Côté Flaubert is owned by Michelin starred chef Michel Rostang and is situated next door to his flagship restaurant. This was the first of his bistros and it is set in what used to be an old grocery store. The rustic décor is warm and cosy with shelves full of antique barbotine pottery lining the walls on two sides of the restaurant.
Expect robust flavours inspired by the traditional bouchon restaurants from the city of Lyon. Enjoy a starter of warm pig's trotter and potato salad with beaufort cheese or artichoke, spring vegetables and snails before main courses of hazelnut encrusted rack of lamb and garlic juice or sword fish filet studded with ginger and cider vinegar juice. For dessert, it's tradition all the way with the likes of old-fashioned chocolate custard cream or maybe a caramelized apple Tarte tatin might take your fancy. There is an English menu available and staff are courteous and welcoming.
