Review on La Place, Radisson Blu Hotel Champs Elysees
La Place is the gourmet French restaurant in the Radisson Blu Hotel Champs Elysees just a short stroll from the Arc de Triomphe. This is a prestigious address in the 8th arrondissement of Paris and the hotel was the former headquarters of Louis Vuiton. The restaurant has a contemporary décor with dark wooden furniture, black leather chairs and elegant fresh flowers on the tables. There is also a very pretty terrace with cream patio umbrellas and smart red chairs and napkins when the weather is warm.
However the pièce de résistance is the inspired cooking of head chef Didier Pioline which marks this as a destination restaurant. Didier's cooking is full of stunningly creative modern ideas along the lines of truffled egg mousseline with parmesan and Iberian ham followed by mains such as scallops with sautéed artichokes and olive oil. While desserts tempt with the likes of guanaja chocolate biscuit molleux or cream of candied chestnuts with chocolate emulsion.
