Review on The Sportsman's Arms
A delightful 17th Century sandstone building situated within the picturesque and unspoilt village of Wath, this is a well established and ever popular venue. The Sportsman's Arms Hotel and Restaurant still offers good old fashioned hospitality, and excellent food.
The restaurant is traditional and elegant - crisp, fresh linen is draped over tables which are filled with sparkling glasses, cutlery, glass lanterns, and fresh flowers. Yet there is no stuffiness and the staff remains welcoming while the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.
The Sportsman's Arms makes good use of its location. Beef, Lamb, Game and Pork comes from the dales, moors and nearby farms while fish is delivered daily from Whitby. An extensive and well chosen wine list with over 140 bins offers a perfect compliment to the menu.
