Located in an historic brownstone just a half block from the Kimmel Center, Ernesto's 1521 Cafe has been welcoming theatre patrons & neighbors since 1992. First established as a coffeehouse/art gallery, Ernesto's has gradually evolved into a full service restaurant featuring two dining rooms, a wisteria covered rear patio & sidewalk seating out front. A family affair since it's inception, Livia, Ernesto's mother oversees the kitchen & creates delicious Italian desserts. Chef Cirilo Pantoia has been producing Italian classics with his own innovative twists for over twelve years now. The menu features such dishes as osso buco, seafood cioppino, orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage, fettuccine bolognese and ravioli di zucca just to name a few. Patrons may enjoy selections from Ernesto's all-Italian wine list or bring their own for a modest $5 per bottle corkage fee. Bottled beer and basic cocktails are available from our service bar.
