Review on The Quays Restaurant
Billed as ‘Ireland’s most easterly pub and seafood restaurant’, Quay’s stands less than 100 yards from Portavogie harbour overlooking the beach and Green Island. From the front of the place you can watch the waves of the Irish Sea crashing in.
The split-level ‘Q’ Restaurant has an airy Mediterranean feel and delivers exactly what it promises â€" namely fresh local seafood in various guises, ranging from pan-fried scallops on Irish black pudding with pesto or clams with honey, mustard and spring onion sauce to deep-fried Portavogie haddock. Dry-aged steaks are also a big hit, along with daily roasts and dishes like honey-glazed duck with Chinese vegetables or beef and Guinness casserole.
