Review on La Española
La Española is in the Madrid town of Pozuelo de Alarcón. It is a classic and traditional restaurant both in terms of its decoration, which is reminiscent of a Castilian tavern, as well as in the style of its food, which avoids pretension in order to focus on genuine flavours enhanced by the quality of its ingredients. La Española is especially proud of its chargrilled meats, although there is a wide variety of Spanish tortillas, blood sausage from León, Madrid-style tripe and plenty of fish dishes such as monkfish with lobster gratin, all of which can be accompanied by wines from its extensive list.
