Review on Warpool Court Hotel

Once the home of St David's Cathedral choir school, this fine Victorian building overlooking St Brides Bay now plays a different tune and has been Voted "Top Ten in the World Hotel Room Views"

These days, the kitchen prides itself on its home-smoked salmon (served as a starter with cucumber and chive sabayon), although you might fancy starting dinner with grilled chicken and thyme sausage with fried chicken livers and thyme sabayon.

Main courses could range from roast saddle of venison with venison faggot, garlic creamed potatoes and Cassis jus to a heart warming seafood casserole with haricot beans, spinach and rouille. Close the show with a trio of chocolate puddings and raspberry sauce or iced coffee parfait in a crisp biscuit box with blackcurrants in syrup.
