Pushing Clos du Marquis restaurant into second place on Tripadvisor for Stockbridge, Abbots Mitre at Chilbolton takes the number one spot. A dynamic team with a wealth of restaurant industry experience took over this pub, and within a short time it became the hottest ticket in town.

Keeping all the traditions of a cosy English pub, a range of well-kept local real ales and a well-chosen wine list are supported by a menu of locally sourced produce. Look on the blackboards for the daily changing specials, or expect from the a la carte, starters like warm goats' cheese and red onion tart with marinated tomatoes and rocket salad or smoked haddock and sweetcorn chowder with rocket pesto and garlic crouton. Mains might include roast pheasant breast wrapped in Parma ham on bubble and squeak with roast parsnips or a 35 Day matured Rump steak served with chunky chips, roasted tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms and a choice of peppercorn sauce or garlic and herb butter.
