Review on Malin Court, Cotters Restaurant

A superb location right beside Turnberry's world-famous golf course is just one reason why sporting types and others converge on this sprawling, low-rise hotel. There are also views of the new Kintyre courses, plus glimpses of the Isle of Arran and the Firth of Clyde in the distance.

Cotters Restaurant makes a pleasing, airy setting for modern food crafted with a light touch. Lunch and supper menus cover a lot of ground, from braised Ayrshire lamb shank on parsnip purée to pan-fried duck breast on pak choi with rhubarb and mint essence. Six-course dinner menus are in similar vein, witness dishes such as seared red snapper with chive mash and onion sauce followed by mango filo parcels with caramelised pineapple.
