Review on Thai upon Thames
Just across Richmond Bridge and a couple of hundred yards along Richmond Road towards Twickenham, we were delighted to discover Thai upon Thames. From the initial welcome by one of the highly professional staff you feel a sense of warm hospitality. Contemporary furniture mixes with Thai art and decorations. Add candle light, romantic background music and you have Thai upon Thames, cosy with a touch of class.
The Chef at Thai upon Thames, Pong, creates some outstanding dishes. Start with Golden Treasure, a combination of Chicken Satay, Spring Roll, Prawn Tempura, crispy Wonton and the ‘best ever’ Prawn Toast Supreme. Be sure to include in your meal one of Pong’s specialities. Goong Phu Kao Fai is grilled Jumbo king prawns marinated in his ‘special’ sauce and flamed at the table with brandy.
The wines are specially chosen to compliment Thai cuisine by Martin Lam of Ransom’s Dock in Battersea, winner of the Moet & Chandon Most Exceptional London Wine List Award 2000.
