Review on L'Atmosphère Restaurant
True to its name, Arnaud Mary and Patrice Garreau's restaurant oozes authentic bistro atmosphere, with its closely packed pine tables, paper napkins and menus doubling as place mats. A brace of fireplaces, raised off the floor, provide a talking point.
Express lunches are an attractive proposition, but they are outshone by the unbeatable three-course 'early bird' menu - which includes a free glass of wine. Elsewhere, the full carte majors in down-to-earth bistro food without frills or fancy gestures. Here you will find côte de boeuf (for two), slow-roast pork shank, leg of lamb 'braised for six hours' and cassoulet of duck confit with Toulouse sausage. Start with fricassee of Dunmore East mussels and bouillabaisse sauce or Caesar with poached egg, and conclude with chocolate soufflé or vanilla slice. The short, serviceable wine list is just the ticket for price and quality.
