Review on Haven Bistro & Bar

If you want to eat foie gras or seared scallops in Whetstone, this high popular neighbourhood restaurant is definitely the place to go. The full menu has an international flavour, with dishes such as salmon fishcakes on spinach with fennel velouté, confit of duck with lentil ratatouille and char-grilled Scotch steaks alongside tempura prawns and porcini risotto. There's a traditional roast on Sundays.

The Haven also has a popular cocktail bar and glass-roofed mezzanine room which stages live jazz three evenings a week and can be hired for private functions. It also has a civil wedding licence: 'propose in the bar, get married in the mezzanine room and have your reception in our restaurant,' says the owner.
