Review on The Jetty at Guildford Harbour Hotel
Formerly a Radisson Blu Edwardian hotel, it has been taken over by the luxury Harbour group. Occupying a prime location in the heart of Guildford, with easy access to the M2 and just a short walk from the railway station. The signature restaurant, The Jetty is a smart affair with plush gold semi-circular banquette seating and dark blue chairs set against dark wood tables, with glittering chandeliers illuminating the room.
Chef Patron is Alex Aitken, one of the South of England's most respected chefs, and he has created the menus for the Harbour Hotel's restaurant with a focus on seasonal and local food. The restaurant is very much an all day affair kicking off with breakfast and working its way through brunch, afternoon tea, lunch and dinner. The a la carte menu offers dishes such as Carpaccio of Bresaola, cured air dried beef with wild rocket and parmesan or Smoked Salmon Cannelloni, a leaf of smoked salmon, smoked salmon mousse and avocado salsa. Follow on with beer battered sustainable fish, chips and tartare sauce or you could opt for one of their succulent British steaks. Nostalgic desserts close the show with a banana split or Eton Mess.
