Review on Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill
Acclaimed chef Marco Pierre White, together with Black & White Hospitality have opened their first Steak House Bar & Grill in the vibrant city of Belfast in Northern Ireland. Housed within the stylish Park Avenue Hotel in the EastSide area of Belfast, less than two miles from the city centre, the establishment has been in the same family since opening in 1959. The refurbished restaurant has a glamorous décor in a smart contemporary palette of black and white. Tables are well laid in crisp linen and soft ambient lighting creates a relaxed vibe to proceedings.
Locally sourced produce is used to telling effect showcasing everything you would expect from a traditional steakhouse, combined with the impeccable quality that is synonymous with Marco Pierre White. There's starters in the shape of fritto misto of calamari and shrimps with sauce tartare or you might opt for one of their popular platters, ideal for sharing, consisting of boiled ham en gelée with parsley, rillettes of duck with prunes d’Agen, free-range crispy scotch egg, homemade piccalilli and toasted sourdough. When it comes to main courses there's an excellent selection of 28 day dry aged native breed steaks served with grilled tomato, watercress, onion rings and tripled cooked chips or from the sea there's macaroni of lobster with fresh tarragon. Desserts offer a trip down memory lane with a classic Knickerboker glory with raspberries or an indulgent sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream.
