Review on Café Wolseley
Respected restaurateurs Corbin & King opened their first venture outside London, Café Wolseley a casual spin-off to their acclaimed The Wolseley in Piccadilly. Located on the former site of Villandry, its an all-day café-restaurant, takeaway counter and shop located in the Bicester Village designer shopping outlet.
The Art Deco interiors have been designed by London based design studio BradyWilliams with a bold black and white chevron floor and a double-volume ceiling. There's smart black lacquer furnishings and brass fittings in a classic 'brasserie de luxe' style, with hand-painted Chinoiserie murals adorning the walls. An inviting terrace is landscaped with greenery perfect for a leisurely drink while watching the world go by. Their adjoining shop has a tempting array of goodies to purchase as well.
The menu is all encompassing, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, light snacks and dinner including classic favourites such as eggs Benedict and coq au vin, as well as new additions like goats' cheese, honey and thyme tarte flambée and feta, quinoa and superfoods salad. A set menu served in the evening from 6.00pm offers good value.
