Review on Restaurant Six at Trent Bridge
Restaurant Six is an exciting dining addition to Nottingham located on the sixth floor of the Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, the third oldest Test venue in the world. It has been developed in partnership with Michelin-starred chef Tom Sellers, who operates Restaurant Story in Bermondsey and The Lickfold Inn in Petworth, West Sussex.
Enjoy a pre dinner cocktail by award-winning bartender Dan Warren in the bar, decked out in a rich opulent décor with gold and black peacock wallpaper and rust and jade velvet furnishings. There's a vast library shelf of over 350 spirits, so high that it requires a ladder, as well as an extensive wine list, premium beers and lagers.
By contrast the contemporary dining room is more subdued in earthy tones with an understated elegance, featuring antique pink-hued rosetta mirrors on the walls and globe pendant lighting suspended from the ceiling. Full length windows give 180 degree stunning panoramic views over Nottingham and Trent Bridge, and there's a subtle nod to cricket with wood panelling like cricket stumps and a menu featuring a choice of six starters, mains and desserts.
Leading the kitchen brigade is Executive Chef Richard Leckie, who together with Tom Sellers presents a modern menu of well accomplished dishes, reflecting fresh seasonal produce. Open your account with pine and citrus cured salmon, bitter leaves and blood orange before moving on to a main course of venison loin, red cabbage and parsnip, finishing perhaps with a delicious egg custard tart, prunes and Armagnac.
