Review on Roundhouse Bar & Café
The resurgent Roundhouse has recently added a barnstorming new string to its bow in the form of a boldly designed contemporary restaurant. Swathes of glass and metal define the interior, and it's a real showstopper as far as food is concerned.
The menu is designed for sharing and they recommend two or three small plates per person, depending on your appetite, although some dishes are also available in larger sizes. Among the delights on offer look for curried parsnip artichoke soup, sesame, coconut; slow-braised oxtail, green spatzl, lemongrass and ginger glaze and cashew or hake tempura, grilled broccoli, sweet and sour kaffir lime sauce. Desserts are equally inviting with the likes of banana and chocolate cake with passion fruit sorbet or fig pannacotta, port sauce and pistachio honeycomb. There is an extensive wine, beer and cocktail list and they are the only local stockist of Camden Town Brewery beers. All profits help support the Roundhouse's artistic activities and work with 11-25 year olds.
